Wedding Garage Sale

I'm finally selling leftover wedding stuff. {tear} I was going to post the list on this blog, but decided that I didn't want random buyers from weddingbee following my personal blog.

If you're reading this and might be interested in wedding decor

Otherwise, we will now resume our regularly scheduled program.

I need a haircut!

First things first…

{Can I get an amen?}

In recent years I can blame this person for my hair dreams...

I always have to remind myself that she HAS PEOPLE.
She doesn't create that masterpiece on a daily basis.

BTW my hair would NEVER look like that, it has absolutely no body which is a total rip off because my mom has super curly hair. My little sister is the only offspring lucky enough to be graced with at least a little bit of a cute wave...unless you count my brother’s curly eyebrows. I’m not gonna lie- I’d rather get nada then have those things framing my eyeballs. On him it looks fine, on me- not so much.

OK back to the point of this post…
I have been going back and forth about cutting my hair off since the day after the wedding. I’ve been wanting to change things up a bit and have an actual style. I also wanted to give my neck some relief from this blazing hot summer. My mom always kindly reminds me that by having a “style” you will have to style it daily...which I can't really commit to since I like sleeping in every second possible.

If I do decide to cut my hair I'd like a long bob. I know I'm late to jump on this trend but I still really like it and I feel like it's a classic look.

Here are a few styles I've been pinning

all pictures from Pinterest

I'd also really love to ombre my hair, or do you say ombre style?

Ombre and Bangs. Not that brave!

So what do think? Should I take a chance with the long bob?
Should I do the Ombre?
Which picture do you think I should show my stylist?

What first?

I have so many things that I want to blog about that I'm just not sure where to start.
So I will leave you with this little nugget to make you smile while I get my act together...

Room Redo: Guest Room to Studio

I'm taking vacation at the end of this month and am planning on converting our Guest Room to my Studio.

Studio = fancy pants name for Craft Room

The reason we decided (it was actually Chris's idea) to make the change is because I love crafting but don't do it as often as I would like. It's a pretty big pain to drag everything out from the Guest Bedroom closet, set it out on the Dining Room table, hopefully finish my project in one sitting, and then clean it all up when I'm done (instead of shutting the door behind me and leaving the clean up for the next day). Wouldn't that deter you from crafting too?

And for the record, don't be fooled into thinking that I keep everything put away nicely in the closet. Guests wouldn't even be able to stay in that room in the shape it's in right now. It's a craft explosion in there right now. I did clean it up from this disaster but it's on its way to looking like that again.
Shameful, I know.

Anyway, I've been pinning a few things that I like for the room.

The current color scheme I think I'm leaning towards is teal, dark lime (similar to the cubes in the
picture below), white, and yellow accents.
I'm sure there are few naysayers of my color palette mixed but I can see the vision. Trust me.

See how it can come together in real life?

I need a pegboard to hold paint brushes, markers, ribbon, etc.

I can use a few leftover Mason Jars from the Wedding for this...maybe on the pegboard?

 both via Pinterest

I LOVE this giant "Inspiration" board.
Chalkboard, Pegboard, Cork board, Dry Erase board all-in-one!

I'll definitely be needing one of these from IKEA for more storage.

I also want to try to either make Chevron curtains or canvases. I don't really want to do anything too permanent with Chevrons like painting the wall since they are pretty hot trend right now and I'm not sure how long I'm going to like it.

I'd also like to try to paint upholstery and up-cycle a chair from Craigslist like this:

I'm pretty excited about the room makeover.
Hopefully I can get it done all in one week. Fingers crossed!

So, what do you think? Love or hate the colors?
Any other ideas for clever storage? Or low budget decorations?

P.S.   Sherry- this one is for you.

It was a HIT!

I made Hash Brown Egg Cups for dinner and they were OH SO delicious that I had to share!

(My changes are in red)

HASH BROWN EGGS CUPS
originally from Pillsbury.com

Prep: 15 min
Total Time: 55 mins
Makes: 5?

Ingredients:
3/4 cup (1 cup) Chedder Cheese + Enough to sprinkle over the top of each bowl
2 cups (3/4 of a 30oz bag) refrigerated hash brown potatoes
1/4 cup (about 8 stalks) chopped green onions
1/4 tsp seasoned salt
1/8 pepper
1 tsp kosher salt
2 5 eggs
1/8 Italian seasoning
Chopped Brown-n-Serve Breakfast Sausage Links

Directions:
Heat oven to 400F. Spray ovenproof bowls with cooking spray. In medium bowl, mix 1 cup cheese, the potatoes, onions, pepper, kosher salt, and chopped sausage links. Press mixture in bottom and up sides of each bowl, leaving indention in center.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. Remove from oven. Sprinkle each cup with Seasoned Salt. Break egg into center of each cup. Sprinkle cheese over the top.

Return to the oven; bake 8 to 12 minutes or until eggs are set and of desired doneness.

Final Result:

It was SOOO good and I don't even usually like eggs! It is definitely worth a try.

I know I made a lot of changes so if you are interested and this is confusing here is the original recipe

1 down, 54,987,651,318,796 to go!

Today is our One Month Wedding Anniversary! It’s pretty nuts kabob (don’t ask, it’s something I say to Chris all the time and since this post is about us I figured it’d be OK to use some of our idiosyncrasies) that we have already been Mr. and Mrs. for 31 days.

Here is our One Month of Wedded Bliss recap:

• I personally have been asked approximately 1,328,746,321 times “Soooo how does it feel?”. This does not include the number of times Chris has been asked. Here is my answer to everyone- “it feels no different” Don’t get me wrong, I love being able to finally call Chris my husband but we’ve been living under the same roof with each other for so long now that it’s not like I had to get used to the way he piles all of his dirty work clothes IN FRONT of the laundry basket or how he always has to check what is on the other TV channels even though we are already watching a perfectly entertaining show. I don’t know, maybe I just don’t understand the question. (In his defense I pile my dirty cloths about 7 steps from the laundry basket. I know we are adults that shouldn’t do these types of things-but we do. Whatevs it’s our house.)

• Here is next most common question asked approximately 1,328,746,321 + 1 times “Soooo when are you guys going to start having kids?” People- we are fresh off the newlywed assembly line. Can we please be married for at least five seconds, no make that 5 years, before we are excepted to pro-create? (I say this response with all the love in my heart) Plus Cody and Rachel have a little Biscuit baking that will keep my Baby Bug at bay.

• The Post Wedding Day Depression Slump is getting less and less with each day that passes. Seriously peeps- my mind is still reeling from the overwhelming perfection of the entire day! Coming down off our wedding induced high was like driving my car into a brick wall. I just couldn’t believe it was over so quick. I need to pick up a new hobby quick. For reals. I suppose my short term hobby can be cleaning up our Guest Room. Get ready for this…I cant believe I am posting this online. Someone call Hoarders: Weddings, it’s bad.

99.99% of that jazz is wedding related. I tried cleaning it about 2 weeks after the wedding and I couldn’t bear to part with any of it so I just gave up. I realistically cannot keep all of it, which I know and Chris reminds me of about every 3rd day, I just get really sad thinking about not having it anymore. Um hello did anyone get a hold of Hoarders yet? Well I guess now that my secret is out I better get busy. Hopefully I will have an update for you very soon.

• We both turned one quarter of a Century.

• I have taken step one of eleventy billion of the Name Change Process. Why don’t the guys have to do anything like that? This can be next short term hobby after I complete the one listed above.

Enough with the silly stuff…it truly has been the best month of my life. I feel such a deeper connection to Chris now that the county knows we belong together, err are Husband and Wife. We’ve already had to deal with a few different types of “Life Curveballs”. I guess life doesn’t stop because you are supposed to be living high on the married hog.

We finally got the wedding pictures back from the photographer. Ya-hoooo! We are waiting to get the CD in the mail so we can look through all of them since the website it not conducive to browsing 750 pictures. Then it will be your turn! We will send out the link/password to all of our Family and Friends as soon as we can.

Next up, Wedding Recaps. Cuz let’s be real- I can talk about it allllll day long.
