no. 5 sweet as sugar

  • What a cute way to commemorate our Wedding date...our stone would be Aquamarine.

  • I love this address stamp. Now that we own our home and are not moving every 6 months like we used to I think it would be safe to go ahead and order one.

  • Hilarious toasting glasses. Would I use the mustache and Chris use the lips? My Nana and Grampy each have a little dish on their nightstands for jewelry or chapstick or whatever and Nana's is a mustache for Grampy and Grampy has red lips for Nana. I hope I get them when they are done with them. I have loved them since I was a little girl.

  • I think I might buy this font for our invitations. I love it. I've seen it used on a few other Invitation suites and it keeps growing on me.

  • Is the cake topper better than the owls? I don't know- it's pretty close.

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE this cake! The pop of color is so cute. I need to figure out to incorporate this into the Dessert Bar.

a ring for the Mr.

Chris and I have been discussing ring options for him and I think we have made a decision...

Those lines on the inside of the ring are fingerprints. The company sends you an Impression Kit and you imprint the entire length of your finger. Then they make a wax form and use a casting process to make the impression into a ring. Pretty cool huh?

I am going to get a slimmer band to wear with my engagement ring and anniversary band that we are on the hunt for. So Chris will have my finger print and I will have his. I am pretty excited about it, definitely a keepsake.

made it through

1. The first week back to school.

2. Getting back into the swing of juggling work and school.

3. The 1.5 mile run that we had to complete as part of a fitness assessment in my Kickboxing class.
There were some crunches and push ups in there too.

I wanted to have Chris take a First Day of School picture of me just for fun but I completely forgot. I had a case of the Mondays in a big way. I had to go straight to school on Monday after work and wait in line for an hour and a half longer than expected to see a counselor so I had to rush home, eat some dinner, and pick up my school supplies then rush back to class.

My Intro to Education (my first teaching class [yay]!) teacher is awesome. We have to complete a 16 hour internship for the class which I am pretty excited about. I am going to observe a friend from elementary school (also one of my bridesmaids, Casey) teach her junior high math class for a few hours which should be pretty fun. She warned me it could get interesting though. She teaches some rough kids and at I have heard the stories. I think it will be helpful for me to see how she handles those situations though.

I love my kickboxing instructor. She is a little asian lady with enough energy to keep up with the energizer bunny. It is going to be a fun semester. When she was demonstrating how NOT to do a push up she had her hands behind her neck and was lifting her neck only instead of pulling her whole body up with her abs and she said "if you do it this way you will have a skinny neck, not a flat stomach." It was pretty funny.

I am going to track my weight and measurements to see how much I lose during the semester. I am excited to see the progress!

I'm taking a pretty light semester since we are trying to plan a wedding at the same time. I don't want to turn into a bridezilla...

no. 4 sweet as sugar

  • I LOVE this owl picture. I wish I had somewhere to hang it in our house. I tried to get Chris to let me buy it and hang it in our room but I guess we are a little too grown up for it. Boooo!

  • My new favorite thing to do on Friday night. GRILL on my little Blue Rhino that Chris bought me for Christmas. Ask Macy or Chris about my delicious ribs! Or Denny and Landon about my Ranch Burgers. YUM!

  • There is nothing better than a Lazy Day. Max agrees.

  • I'm thinking of using this headband as inspiration to make something similar for the big day. I have tried on eleventy billion birdcage veils now and nothing really calls out to me. I do however love me some headbands so this would be a perfect alternative, especially since there is piece of birdcage tulle in it.

  • I spotted these at Macy's at the beginning of the summer and figured I would just wait until they went on sale to buy me a pair. Well Chris and I decided to brave the crazy crowds of Tax Free Weekend so I figured I would just break down and buy them then. Macys SOLD OUT! Why do I torture myself?! No worries, Zappos came through.
Mom: Do these look just like me?!

  • What a great invention! I hate buying water bottles but hate drinking out of those metal containers that are sold on every corner. I know that's not a great excuse but whatever. I need this water station. If they start selling at Bed, Bath, & Beyond I'm definitely going to add it to our registry.

no. 3 sweet as sugar

I know, I know I am a slacker. I have missed two fridays in a row! In my defense, the friday before last I didn't really have anything to show you and this past friday I was on vay-cay so blogging was unfortunately not on my list of things to do.

Without further ado...

  • What a fun picture to take with my ring...I like bananagrams better though (although Chris ALWAYS beats me) so maybe I'll try it with those tiles instead.

  • I love these cupcakes more than PB loves Chocolate...I made them last Sunday and they were scrumptious!

  • This is a fun font...I don't have a use for it though so I will just have to visit it at myfonts.com...

  • How can I justify this purchase? I would like to have it as my wedding band but can't see myself liking it forever because it is kind of a little unpractical. Oh well, a girl can dream.

  • Chris and I have been sort of talking about getting another doggy so Max has someone to play with because he has loads of energy! We want a miniature dachshund and I was browsing through etsy and came across this...pretty much sealed the deal.
